Course Overview:

Startup Companies fall short of achieving their aspirations for many reasons. Sometimes it’s because the product sounds great on paper, but the reality is that there’s just no market for that “can’t fail, everyone wants it” brilliant idea. In some scenarios, it’s because the delivery of the product got out of control, ran out of money, requirements changed too often or a killer risk was never managed. In others, it’s because there simply was no disciplined approach to approving, initiating, executing, controlling, closing and measuring the outcomes of a project.

This workshop will demonstrate ways in which you can improve your chances of success through best practice project management in the delivery of your product through a project. In the workshop you’ll have the chance to listen to the theory, put the theory into practice and to discuss issues that you’re facing in your own projects. [read more]

Location: LSE - London School of Economics and Political Science
Type: Dreamstake Academy | Price: Free

About Startup Academy:

The Dreamstake Academy has been launched with the mission to provide teaching and guidance of the highest academic level to startup leaders on a range of relevant topics. It is designed to complement the capabilities of startup teams by providing expert knowledge.

Course Overview:

"Because the purpose of business is to create and keep a customer, the business enterprise has two and only two basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business." - Peter Drucker

‘The Lean, Bootstrapped Guide to Marketing’ will provide a whistle-stop tour of some of the key principles and practices for marketing in the new age. It will look at marketing through the lens of the Lean Startup rather than the corporate brand: how to seed, develop and retain a unique and compelling customer experience in an age where customers are more aware, savvy, empowered and connected than ever before. Further, it will look at how to use and maximize the most valuable resource available to today’s marketer, existing customers, to create advocates, evangelists and raving fans.

Marketing is no longer a siloed function but a pervasive mindset that needs to be embraced by the organisation as a whole; it is an enabler, not a cost-center. Marketing drives growth. [read more]
