The world famous Pioneers Festival is linking up with Dreamstake to present a great satellite event along side the main 3 day Vienna Festival.

Pioneers Festival – #1 Event for the start-up World. On the 30th-31st of October, the Hofburg Imperial palace in Vienna will open it’s doors to 2500 visitors, 60 top speakers from the US & Europe and the best 50 web/tech/mobile start-ups. The Festival is based on two tracks: the Startup academy with high-class mentors and the main stage for the big discussions, keynote speeches and inspirations.

For this special London event we have assembled a panel of high - profile speakers, moderated by Olivia Solon of wired.co.uk focusing on the widelly debated subject of the vibrant startup scene: Bridging the startup Funding Gap in Europe - What works and what needs to improve to retain London’s place as the hottest European startup hotspot.

Paul Dowling

Paul is co-founder of Dreamstake the leading platform for European high growth potential startups with over 7500 members. He has extensive experience of working with startups and has strong views on how the European startup scene is developing and the challenges facing the market.

Ben Southworth

Benjamin Southworth is the Deputy CEO of Tech City Investment Organisation (TCIO). In his role as Deputy CEO, Ben’s focuses on helping develop existing and new events for the Tech City cluster and ensuring that the community’s views are communicated to policy-makers in Government and City Hall.    

Ben is experienced in the tech and digital start-ups space having worked in the community for nearly ten years. Prior to joining TCIO, Ben was involved in a number of tech start-ups and was one of the founders and organisers of Digital Sizzle, Don’t Pitch Me Bro and Silicon Drinkabout events in East London.

Julian Ranger

Julian has been an Angel Investor since 2007 and an entrepreneur since he formed his first business, STASYS, with his then partner John in 1986.  Investments are generally made directly through J Ranger Ltd and Julian continues his entrepreneurial activities through iBundle Ltd.

Michael Blakey

Michael is a well known Angel investor and co-founder of Avomore developments. He has been been a successful, active, early-stage investor in the UK since 2000 having invested in some 17 business and realised 3 profitable exits to date, The latest is the sale of Commerce Decisions Ltd, (where Avommore were was the initial lead investor) to Qinetic in Q4 2008. Co-investing with his brother, Simon, he is responsible for all Avonmore marketing and deal origination activities. 

 Anil Hansjee

Anil Hansjee is an investor in the early seed companies in the internet space and is currently creating a disruptive funding approach to that market. In addition, since June 2011 he was appointed a senior advisor for the Internet Industry to EQT Funds, a major Continental European PE firm. He took his first public company non exec board role in April 2012 with Zattikka, an AIM listed digital entertainment company.
