SEIS and EIS (Workshop)
The session is aimed at startups and established businesses seeking to take advantage of the generous reliefs available under SEIS and EIS schemes. In short, under SEIS investors satisfying certain requirements are able to reduce their income tax bill by up to 50% of the amount of their investment whilst investors under EIS are able to claim the same relief up to a maximum of 30%. For the rest of this tax year, investors under SEIS get matching capital gains tax relief.
The session will run though the basics of each scheme and will then look at how the schemes interact and to what extent they can be used together. We will then consider how these schemes can be used to attract investors and what the company and its founders can do to ensure that it is compliant with the two schemes.
The presentation will be followed by a FAQs session.
